24 Hour Holter Monitoring

24 Hour Holter

A holter monitor is a device that records your heart beats. It contains electrodes, wires and a small machine that attaches to your waistband.

You may need a holter monitor if your doctor thinks there could be a problem with your heart rate or rhythm. You might have symptoms such as:

  • Fainting

  • Dizziness

  • Shortness of breath

  • Chest pain

  • Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)

At Sydney Heart Specialists, we partner with Device Technologies,  Australia's premier provider of high-end medical devices, to provide state-of-art Holter monitoring for our patients.  Holter machines with touch screens similar to smart phones are monitored live via wireless 3G connections by technicians at headquarters in Sydney and Melbourne. Important cardiac arrhythmias or symptoms are communicated to Dr Clement Wong immediately. ECG trace can be reviewed almost instantly by the cardiologist over the internet, and if required, patient will be contacted immediately. This new technology provides much more effective ECG monitoring for our patients.
